Nationals
Note from Coach Darland,
As a leading age group diving team, our team develops divers that advance and dive at the National Championships. If you or your diver is doing well in invitational diving meets, your abilities and skills may be at a level where the Head Coach will invite you to represent the team in National qualifying meets. Here is how the process works.
There are three National Championship meets every year.
Each of these meets have a different way in which a diver qualifies.
The AAU Age Group National Championships
AAU Nationals is held in the last week in July and is hosted in a different location every year. Usually rotating between Florida, California and the Midwest.
To qualify, a diver has to meet a qualifying score at an AAU or a US Diving sanctioned diving meet. To see the qualifying scores for each age group click on the following link.

One month prior to the AAU Nationals, Coach Darland will invite qualified divers to participate. The considerations for who will be invited include the following.
1. Divers are generally expected to compete on both the 1 and 3 meter events.
2. Divers need to have a dive list that is approved by the head coach.
3. Divers are expected to practice their meet lists for four weeks prior to the meet.
4. Divers are expected to train with Coach Darland a minimum of two weeks at Future Stars Diving Camp prior to the Nationals.
5. The meet schedule sometimes has a bearing on Coaches attendance, since the meet lasts for seven days to cover all events.

The meet schedule of events is usually available one month prior to the meet. Events usually run from youngest competitors early in the week to older competitors later in the week.

The U.S. Diving East National Championships
The U.S. Diving East Nationals is held in the Spring each year. This is a very competitive meet. To qualify, divers need attend the U.S. Diving Regional Championships and place in the top 6 finishers.

In 2012, the East National Championships are held at Rockville, MD on 4/13/12-4/15/12.
The U.S. Diving National Championships
The U.S. Diving Nationals is held in August each year. This is the most competitive age group diving meets in the country.
To qualify, divers need to attend the U.S. Diving Regional Championships and place in the top 12 finishers.
Then, the top 15 finishers advance to the Zone Championships, where the top six finishers at the Zones advance to the National Championships.
In 2012 the Summer Regional Championships are held at Purchase, NY on 6/8/12 - 6/10/12.
In 2012 the Zone Championships are held at Christianburg, VA on 7/12/12 - 7/15/12.
In 2012 the Summer National Championships are held at Greensboro, NC on 8/5/12 - 8/10/12.
